Scoil Éadain Mhóir in Derry went on-line this week with the official launch of their new website. Risteard Mac Daibhéid, vice-principal of the school, described how the site can act as a line of communication for parents and children alike.
‘The School decided to develop its own website to improve communication between parents and children. Included within the site are links to educational resources that will support childrens’ education at home. As well as that, many important support materials have been made available for parents who want to help their children with homework, particularly Irish homework, with links to www.focloir.ie and www.abair.ie
‘There is also a link to the BBC learners’ site Giota Beag, for parents who wish to learn Irish and for those who wish to improve on the Irish they already have. There is a broad range of different materials on the site and it is updated often to ensure that parents, children and the wider community have access to the most recent information’.
